Financial Controller


Our client is seeking a Financial Controller who will assist in coordinating the Finance function. The successful applicant will assist in all aspects of financial management, including corporate accounting, regulatory and financial reporting, budget and forecasts preparation, as well as development of internal control policies and procedures. 


  • Assisting with all finance and accounting operations in collaboration with the Finance Manager
  • Assisting in the preparation of budgets and financial forecasts and report variances
  • Assisting in the preparation and publishing of annual financial statements within statutory deadlines
  • Manage all accounting operations including Billing, Payroll, Tax, Cost Accounting, Inventory Accounting, and Revenue Recognition
  • Coordinate the preparation of, and distribute timely monthly management accounts and reports and liaise with the Company’s actuarial team
  • Coordinate the preparation of regulatory reporting including Quarterly Reporting Templates for the holding & group entities
  • Ensure compliance with all reporting deadlines and tax filings
  • Assist with developing and documenting business processes and accounting policies to maintain and strengthen internal controls
  • Comply with all general IFRS and Solvency II requirements and in particular to liaise with the actuarial function to ensure compliance with all regulatory requirements including but not limited to the calculation and monitoring of Regulatory and Solvency capital Requirements in line with regulations and approved Board Policies.
  • Prepare, reconcile, submit and follow up on applicable Reinsurance Statements of Account in accordance with the requirements of each applicable treaty.

Skill-sets and Requirements

  • Exposure to solvency II requirements
  • Experience with insurance related IFRS requirements would be considered an asset
  • Experience with drafting financial statements
  • Be prepared to travel as and when necessary or as required by management in Europe

Education & Experience

In possession of a University degree in Accounting or an equivalent professional qualification
