Financial Accountant

Our client, an aviation company based in Malta, is looking to recruit a Financial Accountant

Responsibilities

• Liaising with the Financial Accountants on the day-to-day operations.
• Monitoring accurately accounting records.
• Providing support in the month end process leading to the submission of accurate monthly management accounts in a timely manner.
• Being responsible for the posting of invoices and journals in our accounting software tool.
• Preparation and submitting of VAT returns on a timely basis.
• Performing reconciliations related to the Finance department.
• Preventing Controls and Review Controls.
• Providing assistance to external auditors as may be required and assisting in the preparation of the financial statements.
• Monitoring with the Financial Accountants the implementation of new projects related to Finance.
• Supporting the Financial Accountants and the team with any ad-hoc requests.

Skill-sets and Requirements

• A minimum of 2 years of experience in a similar role
• Able to work to meet agreed deadlines.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
• Microsoft Excel literate
• Experience in cost control, budgeting and reporting will be considered an asset
• Previous experience in Aviation industry will be preferred
• Eye for detail

Education & Experience

• Fully Qualified Accountant
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
