Finance Manager

Malta  |  €35,000 - €45,000 

Our client, a leader in offshore logistics services is seeking to recruit a Finance Manager. The selected candidate will have the following responsibilities:

  • Overseeing the team under his department, assigning work allocation, training and problem resolution
  • Developing and assisting with the development and implementation of policies and procedures and ensuring efficiency and safe operation within the department
  • Developing and implementing systems for collecting, analyzing, verifying and reporting financial information
  • Ensuring compliance with payment, reporting and other requirements pertinent to the filing of statutory returns
  • Reviewing the company’s accounting operations to determine needs and to recommend, develop and maintain solutions to problems
  • Liaising and maintaining a relationship with company’s bankers, clients and suppliers
  • Assisting the Financial Controller in developing specific goals and plans to organise, plan and prioritise work within the Finance and Purchasing department
  • Assisting with the yearly audits which are carried out
  • Overseeing and managing all bookkeeping aspects including sales and purchasing ledgers and reconciliations
  • Debtor's and Creditor's control
  • Cash flow Management
  • Compiling VAT returns and any necessary NSO reports
  • Ensuring management accounts are provided in a timely manner
  • Developing, leading and executing purchasing strategies
  • Keeping track and reporting key functional metrics to reduce expenses and improve effectiveness
  • Assisting in the preparation of financial statements in line with IFRS's as well as in the preparation of the audit file of the company's subsidiaries
  • Liaising with auditors, bankers as well as external advisors and ensuring that all necessary documentation is in order 

Skill-sets and Requirements

  • Previous experience within a similar environment locally
  • Excellent written and spoken English and Maltese
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Highly organized and willing to work in a dynamic environment
  • Experience in managing teams
  • Good understanding in designing and implementing internal control systems
  • Proven knowledge of accounting principles, practices, standards, laws and regulations

Fully qualified and locally warranted accountant
