Chief Financial Officer

A client of ours specialising in the Maritime industry is looking to onboard a Chief Financial Officer to join their team of professionals; The selected candidate will report directly to the CEO and assist the Directors and CEO with the following:

Duties:

• Aligning the finance structure and implementing internal controls ensuring efficient and effective financial operations per industry benchmarks
• Ensuring all accounting records are timely and adequately maintained, as well as all reporting cycles performed effectively in line with regulatory and organisational requirements
• Be actively involved in multiple entities; financial operations and the Group's figures consolidation
• Preparing the financial projections and budgets in line with business plans
• Monitoring business performance and recommending corrective measures as necessary
• Supporting the drafting of business development proposals and evaluating investment opportunities
• Ensuring effective relationships and coordination with key stakeholders, including related entities, government bodies, etc.
• Assist in training and resource development aimed at building the team's knowledge and skills to handle additional responsibilities and thus perform to the highest standards
• Overseeing the Company's Payroll
• Assisting with ensuring compliance with local and foreign regulatory financial requirements and new legislation whilst taking any appropriate action
• Liaising with external auditors for year-end audits
• Involvement in ad hoc projects
• Travelling to the Company's subsidiaries as required

Skill-sets and Requirements

• A minimum of 5 years' experience in a Senior Finance function
• Would have ideally had international exposure as well as local, and a keen ability to think globally

Education & Experience

Must be a locally qualified and warranted Accountant
