General Manager (Freight Forwarding)

As they are growing they would like to engage a General Manager(Freight Forwarding) to join their team

The Role

• You will lead a team of professionals in the fast-paced environment of freight forwarding services
• Provide strategic leadership and direction to the freight forwarding operations, ensuring efficient and effective delivery of services to clients
• Oversee all aspects of the business, including sales, operations, finance, and customer service, to achieve company goals and objectives
• Lead, mentor, and motivate a diverse team of professionals, fostering a culture of accountability, teamwork, and continuous improvement
• Develop and implement policies, procedures, and best practices to optimize workflow, enhance productivity, and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements
• Cultivate strong relationships with key stakeholders, including clients, suppliers, partners, and regulatory authorities, to drive business growth and expansion
• Monitor industry trends, market conditions, and competitor activities to identify opportunities for innovation, differentiation, and competitive advantage
• Prepare and present regular reports, forecasts, and analyses to senior management, providing insights and recommendations for strategic decision-making
• Manage financial performance, budgets, and resource allocation, ensuring profitability, cost control, and operational efficiency
• Strong understanding of logistics operations, industry trends, regulations, and best practices, with a focus on continuous improvement and innovation.

Requirements

• The ideal candidate will possess a unique blend of assertiveness, approachability, and exceptional business acumen
• Minimum of 3 years of experience in freight forwarding services, with a proven track record of leadership and achievement in a managerial role
• Can handle a fast moving operation
• Have great communication skills
• Be tech saavy
• Exceptional problem-solving, decision-making, and negotiation skills, with a results-oriented mindset and a commitment to delivering superior customer service
• Strong leadership skills

Education and Experience

• Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Logistics, Supply Chain Management, or a related field; Master’s degree preferred
