The ICT Assistants work under the coordination of EUAA or under the coordination of the Greek authorities, according to the sub-profile. 

The main tasks of each sub-profile are presented below.
 

1. ICT Assistant:  

The ICT assistant works under the coordination of EUAA, providing 1st Level ICT Support and reporting to ICT Unit in HQ Malta, or will be seconded and work under the supervision of the Greek authorities. The ICT assistant will perform some or all of the following tasks:

  • Follow the IT Service Management processes, work instructions and other relevant items related to the provision of a well-established and perceived Service Desk;
  • Address the needs of users in a timely manner in accordance with the Service Desk Procedures, either by telephone, email, remotely or in person;
  • Support in maintaining an up-to-date assets and inventory database;
  • Support the smooth running of Video- and tele-conferencing facilities;
  • Install hardware and software components, updates, workstations, peripherals, desk and mobile phones, videoconferencing units, and logical unit support, while ensuring maintenance;
  • Carry-out pre-deployment quality control for desktop and laptop platforms;
  • Collaborate and support the maintenance of the ICT archive and documentation, and in the operation of available ICT applications;

  • Assist in setting standards for applications that meet the needs of the users and support the overall Information and Communication Technology;
  • Support, with IT expertise, in the building up of appropriate digital tools that will serve the needs of the Service in daily use; 
  • Train staff on ICT issues/usage as appropriate;
  • Evaluate needs for upgrading and eventually replacing ICT equipment in the field, to meet applicable standards;
  • Assist in the performance of market research for procurement of equipment on behalf of RIS as appropriate;
  • Be available to participate in missions, as per the operational needs of EUAA;   
  • Participate in trainings organised by EUAA or other stakeholders, when requested;
  • Provide regular analytical reports and statistics of provided services and challenges;
  • Draft documents, templates, minutes and reports;
  • Perform any other tasks in the interest of the service, relevant for the specific profile.

Requirements

- University degree in the related area – preferred and advantageous;

- Certification according to ITIL will be highly advantageous;

- Demonstrated previous experience of at least 3 years in relevant tasks will be an advantage;

- Fluency in Greek and in English (oral and written);

- Excellent intercultural/interdisciplinary communication skills; Excellent cooperation skills; 

- Enhanced ability to coach and train others, and transfer knowledge, in the related fields;

- Very good skills in planning and organising.

2. IT Security Assistant

The IT Security Assistant works under the supervision of the Greek authorities. The IT Security Assistant will perform some or all of the following tasks:

  • Establish and enforce robust cybersecurity strategies aligned with organizational goals and compliance standards;
  • Conduct thorough risk evaluations of IT systems to identify vulnerabilities and implement measures to mitigate potential threats;
  • Ensure adherence to IT security policies through continuous monitoring and regular compliance checks;
  • Respond to and manage security breaches, documenting incidents and implementing corrective measures;
  • Develop and lead security awareness programs to educate employees about cybersecurity threats and best practices;
  • Be available to participate in missions, as per the operational needs of EUAA;   
  • Participate in trainings organised by EUAA or other stakeholders, when requested;
  • Provide regular analytical reports and statistics of provided services and challenges;
  • Draft documents, templates, minutes and reports;
  • Perform any other tasks in the interest of the service, relevant for the specific profile. 

Requirements

- University degree in the related area – preferred and advantageous;

- Proven track record in information security or a related IT role;

- Professional certifications, such as ISO27001, ISO27002, ISO27005, ISO27799, ISO17799, ISO22857, BS7799, etc;

- Strong knowledge of cybersecurity frameworks, risk management, and network security;

- Fluency in Greek and in English (oral and written);

- Excellent intercultural/interdisciplinary communication skills; 

- Excellent cooperation skills;

3. Data Warehouse and Business Intelligence Assistant

The Data Warehouse and Business Intelligence Assistant works under the coordination of the Greek authorities, in performing some or all of the following tasks: 

  • Design, build, and maintain efficient, secure data warehouses; 
  • Implement ETL (Extract, Transform, Load) processes for data intake from various sources and ensure data consistency across systems;
  • Implement and manage the integration of data warehouses with business intelligence tools, such as Power BI, for effective data analysis and reporting;
  • Utilize business intelligence tools, such as Power BI to create insightful reports and data visualizations for business decision-making;
  • Work with internal and external stakeholders of the authority to fulfil data needs;
  • Be available to participate in missions, as per the operational needs of EUAA;   
  • Participate in trainings organised by EUAA or other stakeholders, when requested;
  • Provide regular analytical reports and statistics of provided services and challenges;
  • Draft documents, templates, minutes and reports;
  • Perform any other tasks in the interest of the service, relevant for the specific profile.

Requirements

- University degree in Computer Science, IT, or related field – preferred and advantageous;

- Proven experience with database and data warehouse management;

- Strong experience in integrating data warehouses with tools like Power BI;

- Knowledge of SQL and database programming;

- Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills;

- Communication skills to interact effectively with technical and non-technical colleagues;

- Proficiency in MS Office 365 suite applications;

- Fluency in Greek and in English (oral and written).
